For children entering grades 1–2

This half-day program will help your child develop and practice skills of strategy and planning by spending two hours on the game of chess and two hours learning how to build a mobile app.

Beginners/Intermediate Chess Chess has been proven to enhance children’s motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, creativity, and academic performance. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach.

Game Makers During this part of your child’s day, they will learn the skills of game making through conceiving, designing, and creating their own mobile app games. The resulting games can be shared online and texted to friends for them to play on their phones. If your child loves Roblox or Minecraft, they will love this.
