For children entering grades 6–8

In this class we will study and learn from the games of grandmasters and world chess champions alike. We will learn about controlling the center, taking the initiative, and how to attack in combination. In addition, your child will study the secrets of openings like the Queen’s Gambit, Spanish, and Italian, and learn middle-game strategies and endgame tactics. There will also be a chess competition with prizes at the end of the session! Your child will also receive a participation award and a chess keychain.
