For children entering grades 3–8

Adventure Kids Day Camp offers a safe, high-energy, and rewarding program based on core values of trust, communication, and teamwork. Throughout this experience, campers and staff alike enhance their cooperative skills, self confidence, and leadership qualities. Every day is jam packed with fun where lasting friendships are forged and indelible memories are made.

Field Trips are back!
Campers will revisit favorite field trips around the Chicagoland area. We will also continue to use our very own beautiful campus for adventures. Water parks, lakefront adventures—like sailing and kayaking, beach trips, amusement parks, and other great Chicago-area attractions are among some of the trips we have taken in years past. Campers will go on one off-campus, age-specific field trip and one walking adventure per week.
Campers in grades 6–8 will have an opportunity to attend our traditional overnight camping trip to Camp Duncan in July. In addition to experiencing all of the adventures of camping, they will also participate in boating, blobbing, zip-lining, rock climbing, and high ropes courses. This is definitely a highlight of summer!

We are excited to partner with M3 Aquatics to provide an excellent swim program including lessons for children of all ability levels. The swim program will have low student-teacher ratios to ensure each child gets individualized attention while learning team-building skills. Campers will participate in a balanced aquatics experience, including games, lessons, workouts, and FUN!
Adventure Kids Sports
We offer a variety of sports and fun activities based on our weekly themes. From basketball and pickleball, to the ever-so-popular game of Quidditch, AK takes full advantage of our awesome facilities including multiple gyms, fields, playgrounds, pool, tennis courts, and more. Consistent with the core Adventure Kids values, all activities promote an all-inclusive and cooperative group dynamic.

AK Camp Idol and other Special Events
AK Camp Idol is our end-of-session showcase of talents. Groups work together to develop creative, energetic, and fun dance routines and other varying talents that they perform on the last day of the session in front of their fellow campers, staff, and an energetic crowd of fans. Other special events include Luaus, Game Show Days, Halloween in July (parade with marching band included), Flea Markets, and more.

Theme Weeks—20+ years of themes reinvented!
This year we celebrate 20+ years of AK fun! Some of our favorite themes from years past include: Under the Sea, Chicago, Jungle Safari, and Rock and Roll. These, and many more, will come back to life with some 2022 pizzazz.

Arts and Crafts/STEM
Campers participate in themed projects in our on-site creativity center. We have put an AK creative twist on some of the traditional arts and crafts projects, STEM challenges, and digital resources, although friendship bracelets will always be a camp favorite!

Specialty Classes
Campers will participate in all that our supervisors and specialists have to offer. Some examples are cooking challenges, spa day, gardening, science experiments, yoga, music, dance, sports conditioning, and more! Some specialty classes specifically offered to older groups include an opportunity to participate in outdoor adventures. Some of these options include fishing, paddle boarding, visits to Hyde Park’s historic lakefront treasure The Point, and campus orienteering adventures.

AK Music Programming
Lab’s very own music teachers will lead AK through a variety of music awareness and exploration activities. Some favorites include group ukulele lessons, bucket drumming, digital music videos, and much more.
