New Lab Board Chair announced
In a memo to the Lab community, Provost Ka Yee C. Lee and Vice Provost Daniel Abebe announced that Jason Tyler, '89, MBA'99, has been appointed the next Chair of the Laboratory Schools Board, beginning on July 1. Board chair appointments are made by President Robert J. Zimmer.
Current Board Chair David Kistenbroker, who will conclude his term on June 30 after 10 years of outstanding board service, the last six years as chair. A leading trial lawyer, David is Global Co-Leader of the white collar and securities litigation practice of Dechert LLP and managing partner of the firm's Chicago office. During his time on the Board, he chaired the Planning and Operations Committee, the Governance Committee, and a director search. In 2017, through generous philanthropic support from David and his wife, Cynthia Heusing, the Kistenbroker Family Artist in Residence Program was established to bring practicing artists to campus to work directly with Lab students. David is also the parent of a recent Lab graduate.
Jason is well known to many in the Lab community. He is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Northern Trust Corporation, and has a longtime connection to Lab as an alumnus and as the parent of a Lab alumnus and a current U-High student. A Board member since 2015, he recently served as co-chair of the Lab Search Advisory Committee to identify the new Lab Director, Victoria Jueds, who will join Lab in August. He also has chaired the Board's Planning and Operations Committee since 2017.
