The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools

James Fleming was named a two-time top 50 Chicagoland basketball player in his four years playing varsity. He was All-Conference three times and was awarded Conference Player of the Year. As team captain they only lost six games in three years. U-High went undefeated in the Conference in his sophomore and senior years. James went on to play basketball at both Lincoln College and the University of Wisconsin Parkside. He returned to Lab to coach from 1996–98 and notably coached other Lab Hall of Fame inductees when they were students.
