Elizabeth Oyler Qualifies to State Swim Championships, Sets Three School Records

Eleventh-grader Elizabeth Oyler had a great IHSA Sectional swim meet Saturday at UIC, setting three school records and qualifying for the 100-yard backstroke at the State Championship in Westmont next weekend. Lab's last two swim state qualifiers were Jayne Crouthamel in 2019 and Ava McKula in 2018.

The Maroons placed fourth, scoring 207 points at the Sectional.

Coaches Dar Novak and Kate Chronic were named Coach-of-the-Year for the IHSA Sectional. Special thanks to Mirko Mirkov for all his work with our girls swim team this year.

100 backstroke: Elizabeth Oyler, 2nd place (new Varsity School Record and State Qualifying Time).
100 breaststroke: Amy Ren, 4th place.
400 freestyle relay: Lydia. Gilbert, Sophie Li, Adelina Meija, Haley Sturgill, 4th place.
