The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools

The U-High Boy's Track and Field Team had a very strong showing at the IHSA 2A Sectional meet hosted by St. Rita. The Maroons scored 92 points for a third place finish of sixteen teams. 

Nine qualify to the IHSA State Championship meet next weekend at Eastern Illinois University:

• Simon Lane and Ben O'Donnell in the 1600m 4:46.02 and 4:46.38
• Simon Lane 3200m 10:27.21
• William Montague 400m 52.43 PR
• Nyel Khan 300m hurdles 43.54 PR
• 4x800m Relay - Ellis Domenick, Leyton Mueller, Deniz Ozkhan, Frederick Pytel 8:46.94

Our 4x100 relay team tied with St. Rita for second place with a 43.82 time. There is a question yet if that tie for second place needs to be broken in order to qualify for State. Stay tuned for an answer to this question. Our relay team of Jake Roggin, George Ofori-Mante, Justin Giles, and Luke Grotthuss ran a great race.
