Boys Basketball Regional Champions

The boys basketball team defeated the Jaguars from King High School Friday night, 73-51 to win the IHSA 2A Regional Championship. The Maroons played to a 30-29 lead at half-time trading baskets for the first two quarters.

The second half saw the Maroons dominate the game at both ends of the floor. The Maroons' perimeter defensive pressure resulted in a number of steals including back-to-back steals by senior Ben King resulting in two "and 1" lay-ups within 12 seconds to propel the Maroons to a 10-point lead in the third quarter. Clutch shooting and team defense shut down the King offense in the fourth quarter to lead the sixth-seeded Maroons to an impressive win.
