The Maroons had 15 hits, including a Shorab Rezaei inside-the-park home run en route to a big win over South Shore High School yesterday at the Kroc Center. The Maroon's defense was equally impressive, pulling off two triple plays. The first triple play ended the first inning going 4-6-3 with runners on first and second. The second triple-play ended the game going 4-6-3-2. Senior Nathan Kilkus's throw to catcher Maxwell Copans who tagged the sliding runner at the plate ending the game in dramatic fashion.
The Maroons compete with Leo High School Saturday for the Regional Championship at 1 p.m. at the Chicago Christian baseball diamond in Palos Heights.
