Thank you so much for your interest in Lab! Please carefully read the information below before proceeding
Families Interested in entry for Fall, 2020
Lab has completed first round admissions for fall, 2020. At this time, most grades are full. However, more spaces may become available during spring and summer, so you are invited to apply and submit the preliminary materials listed below. There is no application fee to pay at this time.
- Online application questionnaire (please click SUBMIT when finished)
- Copy of birth certificate or passport
- Recent grades or progress reports (if available)
- Recent standardized testing (if available)
Lab prefers that you upload all documents through the admissions application portal. If you are not able to do so, you may email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Upon receipt of these documents, a member of the admissions team will reach out to discuss your grade of interest with you. In some cases, if the grade in question is already full, Lab may elect to simply hold your materials without further action. If there is a greater likelihood of space later in the summer, Lab may ask families to complete the application process and submit additional materials.
Please note: If you are recruited faculty to the University of Chicago, feel free to apply but please also email admissions or Irene Reed to request an application link.
A note about priority enrollment consideration
As a division of the University of Chicago, our admissions process gives priority consideration to the children of the University of Chicago faculty, the children of employees of the Laboratory Schools, the siblings of current Lab students, and the children of Lab alumni. However, every class includes many families who are not University-affiliated. We welcome all applicants, and we continuously strive to include as many families as possible in our growing community. Regardless of priority or affiliation, completion of the application process does not guarantee admission. All applicants are expected to pursue a number of educational alternatives.
