The Knes Family Library at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools stands as a vibrant hub of learning and exploration, enriching the academic experience of students and educators alike. The Lower School library program encourages students to read both for pleasure and for information. As they progress through Lower School, students gain an awareness and appreciation for a wide variety of literature. With its extensive collection of resources spanning various disciplines—from literature to science—the library serves as a dynamic space where curiosity is nurtured and intellectual inquiry is encouraged.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a dedicated team of librarians, the Knes Family Library provides a supportive environment for students to engage in research, critical thinking, and collaborative projects. Its innovative programs and initiatives promote information literacy skills, empowering students to navigate the complexities of the digital age with confidence and competence.
