Connections is the Laboratory Schools' annual gala fundraiser, the signature event of the year at Lab, and a 20-year tradition. 

Planned and organized by a dedicated team of parents and alumni, this early spring event brings the Lab community together to celebrate the schools and provide essential support for student financial aid and a project of lasting importance.

This year, funds raised at Connections 2012 and 2013 will be combined to enable the creation of two innovative outdoor spaces, one at the new Early Childhood Campus, opening in fall 2013, and one at Lab’s historical campus. These new spaces are designed to foster exploration and curiosity while encouraging play, exercise, or contemplation, and they promise to enhance the Lab experience for many years to come. And in keeping with Connections tradition, one quarter of all proceeds will be directed toward student financial aid.

We hope that you will plan to join us on Saturday, March 9, 2013, for this wonderful evening of socializing with more than 750 fellow Lab parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends. The event will be hosted in the Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier, and will feature the U-High Jazz Band and other student performers, an exciting silent auction, cocktails, dinner, DJ and dancing.

Parents and friends can support Lab through Connections in several ways: purchase and underwrite tickets to the event; advertise your business or purchase a family page in the yearbook-style Program Book; bid on and purchase items in the online and silent auctions; and volunteer on the Connections committee. Each year a group of more than 100 volunteers plans, organizes and presents the event. Volunteering is a fun and enjoyable way to meet other Lab parents and support the school, and many different committee roles are available to accommodate a variety of time commitments. Please consider joining us on the Connections 2013 team.
