Connections, Saturday, March 12

Connections, Lab’s annual gala fundraiser, is held each spring. Parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of Lab enjoy an evening together while raising money for student financial aid and other priorities. The room literally buzzes as friends new and old come together in support of a shared cause.

In 2016, Laboratory Schools celebrated 120 years since our founding by educator John Dewey and raised more than 1 million dollars, an unprecedented amount.

All net proceeds in 2016 benefit student financial aid. Having the best and brightest students in our classrooms is part of what makes the Lab experience special, so the Schools strive to make our educational program accessible for as many families. Moreover, family circumstances can change. Financial aid allows our talented students to stay at Lab, regardless of these changes.

Connections is an enormous event that takes a lot of hands and without the help of the parents, alumni and community friends, it wouldn't be possible. The Office of Alumni Relations and Development deeply appreciates the time and efforts of the volunteers that made Connections 2016 a success.

To learn about how you can help volunteer for the next Connections or get involved in fundraising to secure critical financial resources for financial aid and other priorities, please reach out to Danielle Broadwater at dbroadwater@ucls.uchicago.edu or 773-702-4410.

We look forward to another great Connections in 2018!
