Field StudyThe Field Study program offers middle and high school students at the Laboratory Schools the opportunity to explore different cultures, develop group skills, and do community service in unique places during the summer months. The program’s goal is to assist students to become more culturally aware and better able to contribute as effective and involved citizens in today’s global society. Travel helps students connect learning with life. They reach new levels of achievement using classroom lessons to understand the places they visit and communicate with the people they meet. The self-confidence they gain from these experiences becomes the foundation for a lifetime of discovery. Trips to Western Europe, the Southeast United States, and a return trip to the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Cortez, Colorado, are in process for this year: Crow Canyon: Cortez, Colorado
World War I Battle Sites: All Along the Western Front
The Civil Rights Movement (Alabama and Georgia) Past trips have included visits to Chile, China, Ecuador, Italy, Mexico, Cuba and Crow Canyon in Colorado. So join us this summer for wonderful discoveries of culture, history, peoples and destinations as you make your own memorable summer stories. Students should apply by downloading the appropriate forms and submitting the completed application to the trip leaders or directly to the Summer Lab office by the posted deadline. Bon voyage!
