Child's Play at Lab

Open to students entering grades 1 - 2

Join this amazingly creative and engaging program at Lab School for the ultimate in children’s drama and theatrical experience! This high energy 3-week course and performance is based on the limitless creativity of the campers’ writings. Child’s Play’s entertaining style helps children bring to life their ideas about the issues they face and their hopes and dreams for the future. Each week campers will encounter new and varied activities and experiences that encourage ensemble building, self esteem, consciousness and problem solving. Week 1 introduces campers to theatre and improvisation games, as well as our Idea Box, used to generate stories and poems. Week 2 sees campers begin the adaptation of their stories and poems into staged performances. Auditions are held, and as Week 3 starts, campers bring everything they’ve learned about the tools of the actor to rehearse and prepare for the final show, to be held on the last Friday morning of camp.

Note: Students may attend both sessions as course material varies.
