MIRRORS and WINDOWS What are mirrors and windows? There are two ways to define what each one is. There is the literal way, and the abstract way. The literal definition of a window is something you can see through. Whether it be a hole in the wall or a transparent piece of paper. An example of an abstract interpretation of a window could be an autobiography. This could represent the window to some one's mind. In science fiction, a portal is a window to another dimension. Some one's memories are a window to the past. A generic way of describing a mirror is well, a mirror. A mirror reflects something abstract or immaterial so when you look at it, you see a reflection of yourself. Anything that will reflect light is a mirror. A person thinking about the past is a mirror reflecting their behavior. Both mirror's and windows are closely related. They are both used to see things. A window opens the view to another setting and a mirror allows you to look back on an old or current setting when you look into it. |
