I'm in my room, in my house, but it doesn't look like my room or my house.
The room is large and sunlit, with a beautiful large wooden bed, dressed in green
sheets that touch the floor. At the base of the bed I'm sitting practically in
tears, but the room glows. My close friend comes in through a pair of large, wooden
doors at the other side of the room and light streams in. I haven't seen this friend
in so long, but I'm still looking at my feet afraid to see what hides behind their
visit, what's in their eyes. The friend comes in, and kind of....crawls to my spot
on the floor, and from underneath, gazes deeply into my eyes. Now, I can't hold
the tears back. Then, my friend, with his thumb wipes the tears from my face and, in
the warmth of his sweet hug, I wake up.
Date: A long time ago.
A door stood in blackness. There was nowhere but there to go.
I opened the door and walked through. On the other side was a rather
unfamiliar back-stage area. There was comotion all around. People in
costume looking through scripts and such. It was dim and musty. Suddenly,
breaking through the crowds of actor comes my best friend, then shoving me
from the back and told me that I was about to muss my solo cue, and to get
on stage immediately and thanked got that she finely had found me. I was
pushed through a pink curtain and appeared on a stage covered in various
colorful back drops. I looked out into the audience, and they were
all staring at me. A piano began and person beside me began to sing
I didn't know what I was supposed to sing. I looked around. In the audience
I saw faces of my family members, but on the edge of the stage, my brother
was sitting, laughing. I opened my mouth to sing something, anything.
At that moment the curtain fell. I heard the audience applaud and I woke up.
