Scene One


Narrator: "Do you ever wonder what would happen if Jack and the bean stalk got mixed up with the 90's? Well this what would happen."

Mom: "Jack, get up, sweetie."
Jack: "What ?"
Mom: "Well there's something I want to talk to you about."
Jack: "Yeah?"
Mom: "You know how we're low on money?"
Jack: "Uh huh."
Mom: "You know how your dad is dead?"
Jack: "Yeah."
Mom: "Well, I'm working so hard to make ends meet, and I think it's time for you to sell the car."
Jack: "THE CAR!!!!! Why not the bike. It's a two seater and we have no use for it any more."
Mom: "Don't remind me." (Cries.) (Jack gets on bike and rides away. Old man enters and Jack runs into him.)
Old Man: "What do you think you're doing running into people like that?"
Jack: "I have to sell my bike."
Old Man:"Well, I have something you might be interested in."
Jack: "What?"
Old Man: "Flashlights."
Jack: (Annoyed) "Flashlights?"
Old Man: "Magical flashlights."
Jack: "Oh! Magical flashlights. You got a deal."
(Jack runs home)
Mom: "Oh Jack what did you sell for the bike?"
Jack: "Flashlights."
Mom: "What!!! You sold that bike for some stupid, dumb flashlights?"
Jack: "But they're stupid, dumb magical flashlights."
Mom: "Who got that in your head."
Jack: "An old man with curly hair."
Mom: "Tomorrow I'm going to find that man and sue him."
(Jack's Dream: Old man enters and circles around Jack as he sleeps.)
Old Man: "Flashlights, magical flashlights."
(Next Day)
Jack: "Wow it's a sky scraper in my back yard." (The Sear's Tower stands before him with a big red flashing light.)
(Goes in.)
Front desk: "Welcome to the Sears Tower, the biggest building in the whole USA."
Jack: "Do you know were I can get a job?"
Front Desk: "You can see my boss, Mr. Big, on the 96 floor."
Jack: "OK."
Jack: "Hi, I have an appointment with Mr. Big. My name is Jack Small."
Ms. May: "Sorry, you're not on here." (Stomp, stomp) "Oh no! That's the boss! Quick! hide in the file cabinet! If he sees you, he'll kill me!!!!" [Long pause] "Good morning Mr. Big." [In a soft sweet voice]
Mr. Big : "What are you doing?" [In a deep voice.]
Ms. May: "Working."
Mr. Big: "On what?"
Ms. May: "You know, stuff."
Mr. Big: "Well, [pause] get me some coffee!"
Mr. Big: [Asks computer.] "Computer, Computer on my desk, what shall I now invest?"
Computer: "Insider stock trader reports AT&T takeover estimated stock rise 75%."
Mr. Big: "OK, I'll buy AT&T."
Computer: "Good choice!"
Ms. May: (Comes back with the coffee.) "Here's your coffee Mr. Big."
Mr. Big: "What's that I smell?"
(Pause)
Ms. May: "I don't smell anything. (Pause) (She thinks of something to say.) "Um... did you put any deodorant on to day?"
Mr. Big: (Sniffed underarms.) "Nope!"
Ms. May: "Then it must be you."
Mr. Big: "Why won't my file cabinet shut?"
Ms. May: "Well, you know all your money is in there."
Mr. Big: "Well yes, I am very rich!"
(She walks over to her desk to answer the phone. Meanwhile Jack is stuffing money in his pocket from the file cabinet.)
Ms. May: "Okay, I'll send him right down. Mr. Big someone has an appointment with you on the third floor."
Mr. Big: "I'll be right down."
Ms. May: "Why are your pockets bulging?"
Jack: "Um.... I have to go."
(Jack returns home where his mother is waiting for him.)
Mom: "How did it go at work today, honey?"
Jack: "Look I made money, lots of money...."(Jack pulls money out of pockets.)
Mom: "I'm so proud of you ." (She pats Jack on back and walks off stage counting the money.) "One thousand, two thousand, three thousand....."
(Jack goes to sleep and is visited by Flash)
Flash: "You must go back to the Sears Tower and steal the magical coffee pot."
(The next day)
Ms. May : "Oh you again!!!"
Jack: "Yeah me again. I have another appointment with Mr. Big."
Ms. May: "Sorry, you're not on here, again." (Stomp, stomp.) "Oh, that's the boss. Here hide under my desk." (When Mr. Big walks in the office Ms. May is standing up.)
Mr. Big: "Why are you standing up?"
Ms. May: "Well you know ... exercising."
Mr. Big: "Don't you get enough exercise at home ? I mean, I do give you a lot of breaks."
Ms. May: "Well, I'm almost always in the office."
Mr. Big: "Well, get me some coffee!!!"
(She comes back with the coffee)
Ms. May: "Here you go Mr. Big."
Mr. Big: "That will be all. Ms. May, get over here!!!"
(Jack steals the coffee machine. She looks back to see where Jack is and shrugs her shoulders. Jack returns home with coffee pot)
Jack: "Look Mom, I have a magical coffeepot. It makes magical endless pots of coffee."
Mom: "Oh, Jack this is great. I've always wanted to have a coffeeshop. I'll open it up first thing tomorrow."
(Jack goes to sleep and is visited by Mr. Flash.)
Flash: "You must now steal the computer and the boss will be arrested Ahahahaha."
(Next Day)
Jack: "I have another appointment today."
Ms. May : "Sorry, I don't see you on here."
Mr. Big: "Ms. May! Get over here!!!!!!"
(Ms. May exits and Jack steals computer.)
Computer: "Master master!!!! Master master!!!!!!"
Ms. May: "Did you hear that?"
Mr. Big: "My computer!!! Who could have taken it?"
Ms. May: "Jack!!! That little brat!!!! I think he took the stairs!!!! "
(Mr. Big chases after him and police enter.)
Police: "You are under arrest for fraud, money laundering, and abuse of computers. You have the right to remain silent......."
(Scene 10)
Ms. May: "Hello Mr. Small."
Jack: "Hello Ms. May. Would you like some coffee from my mother's coffee shop?"
Ms. May: "Sure! How is your mother?"
Jack: "Good."
Ms. May: "And her coffee shop?"
Jack: "Good."
Ms. May: "The schedule with all your appointments on it is on your desk."
Jack: "OK."
( Mr. Big comes in the office as a janitor.)
Ms. May: "Um.... You missed a spot!!!! " (In a snotty voice. And then makes a face. Mr. Big sweeps up the spot.)
Flash: "And that's the magical ending!!!!"
