You'll Get a Kick Out of It!The Big GreenReviewed by Jessica Pikorz The Big Green is a bad soccer team that needs to get better. And Larry, the goalie on the Big Green, has a serious, funny problem. Whenever someone is shooting a goal at him, in his mind they turn into whatever their name is, so that he gets nervous and can't block the goal! For instance, when a kid from the Knights shoot at him, the kid turns into a knight! The Big Green was directed by Holly Goldberg Sloan and was filmed at Walt Disney Productions in 1995. It is rated PG. Olivia D'Abo plays Anna Montgomery, a teacher who comes to Texas on exchange from England and wh obecomes the Big Green's nice coach. Steve Guttenberg plays Tom Palmer, the town sheriff and also the Big Green's coach. Patrick Renna plays Larry, the Big Green's weird goalie. Anthony Esquivel plays Juan, a strange Big Green player who leaves the team, and comes back. He is a very good soccer player. The movie is about what happens when Anna Montgomery, an exchange teacher from England tries to teach a school in Texas, but the kids just don't care. Then she starts a soccer team with the kids in the class as the players. At first the kids are really bad. Especially when the best kid on the team--Juan leaves. Now the Big Green has to get better really quick, because they have a game with the Knights the next day. At the same time Montgomery and the Knights' coach make a bet. If the Big Green loses, Montgomery will kiss the Knights' coach. If the Knights lose, the Knights' coach will have to kiss the Big Green's mascot, a green goat. Will the Big Green win or lose? And will Juan come back? I think the goat is an intriguing character. He's weird and green, and if you like the color green, you'll like him. I would recommend this movie. Kids might like it more than adults. I like it because I sort of like soccer. I didn't like it because the acting is bad.
