Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne
Reviewed by Maemie Chan

If you were in on a bet to travel around the world in eighty you would accept it, right? It would take no more than a few weeks. What if it was 1872, would you still accept the challenge? Imagine using only steamboats and trains.

Everyone thought he was crazy. Phileas Fogg accepted the challenge. "But I have 20,000 pounds($32,000) in the bank, and I'll bet it all!" (22) It was especially hard for him because he had a detective his back and a small fortune he could lose. Not to mention he had to rescue the beautiful Indian princess Aouda.

A classic still loved for many years full of action, romance, danger, and adventure. An educational book with real places around the world. Wonderful illustrations and a great choice of vocabulary that people will enjoy.
