SLEEPING DEAD!!!

By Ben Knock

Mayday!... Mayday!... ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! The next thing I knew my seat had ejected from the plane. The plane was in flames. I saw the pilot on fire. It seemed funny to see his body falling in 1,000 pieces. But, I had more important things to think about. I was falling faster than 500 miles an hour.

A purple Barney parachute came jetting out of the back seat. I thought, "no wonder this plane was junk, it was made by Barney."

Then green things started throwing red things at me. A blob hit me. It was very slimy and disgusting.

I was about to drop it when it started talking. I didn't know what the language was, but it was talking. So, I stuffed it in my back pack and tried to think of a name for it. I thought of two names, one was "Joey" and the other one was "It".

Even when I hit the ground I didn't know what had happened. Well, I knew one thing, I was conscious. The thing I put in my pack was trying to get out. Everything had happened too fast. The green thing made weird noises. I got scared. I unzipped the pack and the green thing jumped out and hugged me. I was glad to have a friend but still, I did not know where I was or if I was dead or living.

I saw a BIG green stone. I mean, it was ENORMOUS. Joey said, "this BIG green stone is the stone of life. If you eat a piece you will live forever."

I went to the stone and ripped off a piece. I ate it. It tasted like peppermint. I thought "what if have to spend the rest of my life on this island. That would be a long time!"

I asked Joey if he knew where we were. He said "the mountain of fire comes alive every 3 hours but we have just ten more minutes."

Joey said that we should go down the fast Stream of Life. We ran as fast as we could tightly holding hands. Joey said he would transform into a raft. No wonder he could get bigger and smaller, I thought.

He became a raft and I got in. It was hard as rock but not as heavy. A seat popped out of the raft and I sat down. A seat belt popped from the seat and locked me in. Joey said everything would be all right. At first it was a smooth ride but then it got bumpy and then very rough. It was very hard to not fall over. Then, some things like handle bars popped out of the raft. Joey said "grab on. We are going to go down the Waterfall of Death!!!"

I asked "how long is the drop?"

Joey said, "About 999,999,999,999,999,999,999 miles down."

(Since I am about to die, I thought I should tell you a little about myself. My name is Ben Knock. I come from Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. and I am 10 years old. I got into this mess when my Dad was flying a small plane. The guy whose butt was on fire was the copilot. We were over the Atlantic Ocean when a big cloud of green stuff appeared. I asked my Dad what happened. There was no answer. DAD???????? DAD!!!!!!! Where is my Dad? Then a cloud of white appeared and my seat was launched into the air.)

Joey said that we were coming to the water fall so I held on tight. Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!! When I got used to the falling it was easy to open my eyes. It was kind of like bungy jumping but with a hard landing. Speaking of landing we were about crash ,KABOOOOOOOM!!!!

Joey said "Ben? Ben!! What happened? You took a big spill."

I heard a sound: "GRRRRR" and said, "Joey that does not sound good. That is our diner. Our diner talks."

Joey said "no, it is sizzling because it is hot." When I woke up Joey said that we should go to Refrigerator Town. I agreed. We started to walk. We walked through prairies, forests, ponds and a desert. I saw a big splotch of red ahead of us. I ran up to it. It smelled like blood. I asked Joey if he knew what it was.

He said "I know this place to well. Why? All the things and people were slaughtered because they left good food in their refrigerator for to long a time. You could say those green things that were throwing spears at you were rotten food mushed together. Some are nice, some are mean, Most of them are nice to know.

I asked, "Joey then why did they throw you at me??" He answered: "Because they were interested in you. They did not know what or who you are."

Slowly we walked into the town. We went into the biggest building we could find, looking for the mayor of the town. We were sent to his home. It was on Battleship Pier. We knocked on the door and the mayor opened the door.

Suddenly the mayor grabbed me and took me into the kitchen. He stuffed me in a huge refrigerator because he believed that humans had betrayed him in the past.
