Unique to Latinos Unidos, is our commitment to raising money to send to Latino countries around the world. We usually host ethnic lunches, where items like tacos, quesadillas, and tostados are served. Another way we raise money is with churro sales. Churros are a sort of Mexican pastry that is in the shape of a long tube, and is covered with sugar that may be filled with a fruit filling. In past years, we have sent our profits and/or school supplies to a school in Puerto Rico. In 1999, we sent our profits to the relief effort in Guatemala after a hurricane had hit them.
