Latinos Unidos was reestablished at U-High in 1998. The purpose of the club is to educate ourselves and others about the customs and culture of Latin Americans. Another goal, is to provide a comfortable setting for incoming Latin American students. We have a tradition of celebrating Day of the Dead, and we hope to be able to celebrate Cinco de Mayo as well. A unique aspect of our club, is that we raise money to send to Latin American countries. Also, our club has a history of doing community service in Latino communities in the Chicagoland area. People of all different backgrounds can join Latinos Unidos. You do not have to be Latino!! In fact, half of our executive board members are not.
