Peer Leading and Service Learning
The Peer Leading Program is designed to provide training and experience for a select group of rising Juniors and Seniors looking to further develop their leadership skills, as well as provide opportunities to utilize these skills within the Lab School community and beyond. Peer Leaders work with High School underclassmen, as well as Middle and Lower School students.
Peer Leaders are motivated by their interest in experiential learning and a desire to promote community awareness and involvement among their peers. Senior Peer Leaders facilitate Service Learning Seminars on a monthly basis in conjunction with the sophomore advisory program and provide support and guidance to the students volunteering in the community. The Service Learning Seminars involve discussion, journal writing and other activities that facilitate critical thinking about social issues and reflection on students' experiences in the community.
