Once there was a girl named Allison. She lived in New York. She was born on March the 23rd and she was 17 years old. One day she was hanging out with her friends Margo (17) and her boy friend Harley (18). "Well I got to go," Margo said,"Bye."
When Allison got home she was about to go upstairs but her dad called her. "What is it dad?" Allison asked.
"We're moving," her dad answered in a happy voice. Allison went running upstairs.
The next day they had to leave. Allison kissed Harley good bye and left. When they got there Allison jumped out of the car and ran into the forest. She ran as far as she could. Then she tripped over something. She scraped her knee. Allison got up and started walking. All of a sudden she crashed into something. Allison looked up and saw an old man.
"I'm very sorry," said the old man. "Are you lost?"
"Yes," Allison replied.
"Come with me. I'll take you home."
While they were walking, the old man showed Allison lots of things. Allison was staring at a mole hole. "So you've never seen a mole hole before?" asked the old man.
"Nope. I'm a city girl," said Allison.
When they finally got back to the barn, Allison's mom came flying out of the door and hugged Allison. "Mom, mom guess what this old man showed me? He showed me Eli's cave, a deer track, poison ivy, a mustard plant and a mole hole."
When Allison looked back, the old man was not there. The next day Allison went back to Eli's cave and she saw a deer and her fawn. Allison went back to Eli's cave every day and called Margo and Harley every Sunday. It turned out that she loved the country. And she made lots of new friends. She never wanted to move again. Allison never saw the old man again and really wanted to tell him about all of the neat things she saw. One day she saw her friend almost pick up a piece of poison ivy, but Allison stopped her. "Thank you old man, " Allison said to herself.
