Camp Story

By: Leif Anderson

We had just gotten to camp LOMC in Oregon, Illinois. We ate a gross turkey sandwich; the turkey looked like cheese. Then we started the afternoon activities. Canoeing was our first activity. Nobody fell in (thank goodness). After all the activities we had a dinner of rubber mac and cheese. By the way, my name is Michael and my favorite part of camp took place during free time. I can play basketball with my friend Joe. So we went to the office and got a basketball and got to the court before anybody else got there. Some kids asked us, "Do you want to start a game?" We said, "No thanks." We talked about home as we shot. The sun started to set. So we put the ball back and headed up to the campfire. "We are the very best of friends," said Joe.

"Yes," I said.

After a few days of fun had passed, it was time to go back to Chicago, back to our dogs. On the very nice bus, I asked Joe, "What was your favorite activity?"

He said, "Owl pellets."

After that we talked, played games and watched T.V. all the way home.
