Campfire Through the Eyes of a Piece of Dried Wood

By: Sabrina Miller

Don't pick me! Don't pick me! I don't want to go in the fire! I am a funky piece of wood! Ahhhh! It's a butt, a big butt! Don't sit on me! You sat on me! Noooo!

Oh well, I better just enjoy the campfire while I wait.

I remember when I was still a young sapling twig. I got pulled off a tree when people were playing this game called hashing. They grabbed a plastic bag and I got caught in this guy's hair. I was taken all the over to the challenge courses.

I went on the caterpillar walk and I was in the center of the teepee walk. We did the hot peanut butter rock and we had to sing "Row Row Row Your Boat." We did the birthday log and this girl made an amazing jump holding onto another girl. We did the high log where you had to wiggle across. The tire swing was one of the best ones. I was taken all the way across without falling. The wall was fun too.

Cool! They're singing "Chicago, Chicago!" Hey, they're talking about owl pellets. I do not want to know.

Yo, I hear some rapping to da beat. Oh, I love this song. Only the freaky kitchen ladies and the kids sing it. Awesome s'mores! I love s'mores! The butt got up.

Drop me some s'mores! Come on people, aim! Be reasonable. Ah! Thanks for the chocolate! Mmmm.

I got stuck to someone's shoe! A night in the girls' cabin? Eww, I hate girls. Well, I guess tomorrow is another day!
