This picture is of the first campfire. We had a campfire every night after we had had some time to play after dinner. There were two campfires. Sometimes we would compete without telling the other campfire like for example if my campfire heard the other campfire yelling we would probably try to yell back louder. The grown-up that was in charge of the campfire would start the fire. One night we had to go and look for sticks to roast marshmallows for s'mores. We sang some songs like "You Can Plant A Watermelon Right Above My Grave," and "Dan Gato" and we told stories.
This is my story about a camp in Oregon. To get there you take these tour buses that are very nice they even have TV's. Well, if you like campfires, at camp you get to make campfires every day! Also if you come up a half a hour early, you get to help make the campfire. Trust me. I did that and guess what happened? Everyone went to the one that I helped make! O yeah, did I mention that there are two campfires, one for the boys and one for the girls. And I hope that you have the same fun and experience. You also have s'mores while you have a good time while you sing sing and have contests. I hope that you have as good of a time as I did. So have a great time at camp. But remember that the food is like rubber. So I hpoe that you and your friends have a great day and I mean it!

This is a real cool picture. At that time I was thinking 5th grade camp is so fun I never want to leave. But two days later we left I was so sad. I was going to miss it there. The campfire is really fun. We had s'mores and we I had to go look for sticks with my flashlight. I was sitting next to my friend. It was 5:00 pm. We are in Illinois, Oregan.
This is the main campfire where people are either sleepy, wacky, or totally zany. We all went crazy when they brought us each a pack of graham crackers, a marshmallow, and a whole bar of Hershey's chocolate!

This is the first night when we were at the campfire. We got to make s'mores over the fire. We went to Ms. Gallagher and she gave us marshmallows, grahm crackers and a whole bar of chocolate!. We had to get sticks so that you could roast the marshmallows over the fire.

This is the fifth grade of the University of Chicago campfire. It is at night on the first evening of our stay. We are in Oregon, Illinois. The fifth grade goes to this camp every year. We go for three days. Some kids volunteered to fetch sticks for the fire. We sing at the campfires and also tell stories. The first night we mixed boys and girls. The second time the boys pretty much had their own campfire and the girls did too.

It is getting darker and it is time for the first day to end. It is nine o'clock and that is when we have to go to our cabins. The only light there is from the campfire. We are about to go to our cabins.

The first night of camp everybody huddled around the campfire as we played games and sang songs and cooked s'mores while Mr. Matsikas was tossing wood into the flame.
This picture of the deserted campfire was interesting. It caught my eye because I realized that I had never seen the campfire so deserted. Most campfire pictures have an almost dissapearing fire with lots of kids around it and if it weren't for the glow, you wouldn't know it was there. It is hard to believe that one can think of it as a campfire picture. It looks rather nice on its own, even though it's a bit off center.

I had lots of fun at the campfire. I like this picture of me because it reminds me of how much fun I had, singing. I was sitting next to my best friend. We were trying to get some sticks on the ground to throw in the fire. We also moved back because there was poison ivy next to us. After we got comfortable it was time for the s'mores. After we had to run all the way back to the cabins in pitch black. I had too much fun at camp. I did not want to leave.
Every night we had a campfire like this one. We sang funny songs, played word games, and had a snack such as s'mores. It was really fun!

This is a picture of a campfire burning beautifully and flickering in the wind. We had two campfires.

This is a picture of the first evening campfire. Actually, not all of us were there. There were two fires, one nearest to the girls' cabin (the one portrayed here), and the fire nearest to the boys' cabin (where I was). The only people at the fire portrayed were girls. But the fire I was at had girls and boys. Sparks are flying and smoke is filling the air as Ms.Vaughan tries to tend to the fire.
The first evening we were at camp we built a fire but we could have made smoke signals it was so smokey. Around Ole'Smokey we sang songs and ate s'mores. I was one of the people to collect marshmallow sticks because I had a flashlight and long pants (my pants have little sticky things on them that I'll never get out).
