When we got to the camp everyone was excited, so it was hard to sit there while the camp guide was going over rules and reminders. All we wanted to do was see our cabins! Finally, she let us go and when we got to our cabins, it wasn't Buckingham Palace, but it was clean.

We have just arrived at camp after three hours on the bus. Most of us feel saved from the wrath of the bus. We're about to get introduced to the counselors. Here, we're rejoicing. Some of us are relaxing in the sun, because one of the buses was said to be cold. One of the couselors laid out the rules, and activities.

Welcome to Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center. We're in Oregon, Illinois. We are just about to begin our activites. This is a picture of 5th graders. The person in the back is a Lab school teacher. These are the boys (as you can see) except a few. I know every single person in that picture. We are sitting pretty close to the dining hall. We get to do a lot of stuff here but I'm already home sick.

It was cold that day.
It was also the first day.
It was not very cold for me though.
It was right before lunch.
It was also right afer the bus ride.

We just got to camp and everyone was so happy because we just got off the bus from a 3 and a half hour bus trip. The ride was really bad because all the teachers told us to sit down!

This picture is on the first day of camp. We were waiting to hear the rules from the owner of the camp, Pam. This is also all of my friends from my cabin. The whole cabin (cabin room) is sitting on the grass waiting for a fifth grade meeting to tell us the rules and where all the activities are, like where the you do owl pellets which was an activity where you disect a heaved up fur ball with bones inside of an animal that an owl ate. The owl can not digest the bones and fur so they throw it up. (Isn't that pleasent?) They told us where the the canoe pond was located and and where all the other activities were located and to told us our schedules when to go to those activities.

This picture was taken while we were waiting for the instructor to give us instructions and to tell us the rules. We had just arrived at camp. These are also the people in my cabin. We are all good friends.

This was the first day of camp I am with 5 of my friends. I am the one in the middle with the hat and my arms around the two girls. They were giving us a speech about rules of the camp and the cabins that we were in. Then we were put in our groups. I was in Mrs. Eisenburg's group. I had a really good time at camp although the first meal was not good. During the speech we met the camp director. She was very nice. It was a really nice camp.

We are all very tired from our two and a half hour bus ride. We were waiting for the camp person to come and tell us about the camp rules and regulations. We all learned about lunch and that was one of the most fun things. We heard about the YUCK BUCKET! The yuck bucket was a bucket to put all of our extra liquid and food to throw away. we also learned about not sitting down until we have had a "moment of silence." Well, we were all tired, but we still enjoyed our first day at camp.
