Henry Holmes Belfield Henry Holmes Belfield was the Dean of the Chicago Manual Training School when it merged with the University of Chicago in 1897. The CMTS combined with the Dewey School and the South Side Academy to become University High School in 1901. Belfield retired in 1908.
