Connecting to files.ucls.uchicago.edu using Windows.
Download and install a program capable of SFTP (a Secure File Transfer
Program). WinSCP is the recommended program and documented here. You can
download winscp from http://winscp.net/download/winscp382setup.exe.:
- Once WinSCP is installed open the program - a dialog box will open asking
for session connection information.
- For hostname enter: files.ucls.uchicago.edu Enter your lab school username
and password. Leave all other fields in their default state. Click Login.
- Once connected you will see a window split down the middle. The right half
shows your ucls file server space - the “remote” system. The left half shows
the files on your computer - the “local” system. You should be able to drag and
drop any files between systems.
- To view public spaces (dropboxes, etc.) navigate the remote system to:
/Volumes/SAN/Data/Public
