Class of 1943 Reunion Details

Dear Classmates,

It really has been many wonderful years (more than six decades to be exact!) since we graduated from U-High and so time to celebrate this important milestone occasion. To mark our 65th anniversary, we’re working on plans for Alumni Weekend, June 6-7 2008.

The fun begins on Friday, June 6th with an all-alumni dinner at Kovler gym (attached to the old Sunny gymnasium) on the Lab Schools campus. This event is open to all alumni and will feature tours of those places in Lab that hold so many memories for all of us. On Saturday, June 7th, Lab is sponsoring a Jazz Brunch in Scammons Garden, featuring the current U-High jazz band and special guest alumni performers.

Our Class of 1943 dinner will be Saturday night at a restaurant, which is sure to be familiar to all of us the world famous Berghoff, though the restaurant is now called 17 West at the Berghoff. Cost for dinner is $50 per person and includes a traditional wonderful Berghoff meal, beverages and gratuity. Be sure to bring your spouse or significant others to any and all the events.

If you are comfortable with a computer, please be sure to look at the new Laboratory Schools reunion website - you can even pay for all alumni weekend events since their website is very safe and secure.

There is a memory book form contained with this letter. Even if you cannot attend the alumni weekend reunion events, please – please fill out the memory book form and return it to us as soon as possible. We will happily send you a copy of the memory book after its completion. Again, for the computer suave among us, the memory book form is also on-line and can easily be filled out with the press of a button.

For air, hotel, car or other travel arrangements, we’ve enclosed information for your use. The University of Chicago’s reunion weekend happens the same time as our reunion, and the university has made special arrangements for reunion weekend attendees.

Lastly, the Lab Schools depend on our support to continue the creative atmosphere, which has served us so well, so please making a gift today. Our class donations help Lab maintain academic programs, attract top tier faculty, and stay the forward thinking institution that we know and love. The new website even has an area where you can make a gift on-line.

Also, if we don’t have a good email or contact information for you, please let us know. Take a moment to update this information. Looking forward to see all of you in June!

Please feel free to contact the alumni office at the Laboratory Schools for more information and additional details. Contact Kerry Tulson at 773/702-0578.

Class Gift

Most of us remember our experience at Lab and/or U-High as the most formative of our lives. To mark this important milestone, we are planning a class gift to the Laboratory Schools. How much to give? It's impossible to put a value on the lifetime of learning and friendships that our U-High years gave us. Gifts of all sizes are welcome and appreciated, and donors of $1000 or more will be recognized as members of the DePencier Society, Lab’s donor recognition society for Alumni. You may also choose to make your gift in memory or honor of a former classmate or teacher.
