General Information
Occasional Use is available for all of our after school Daily Programs. This provides parents with the most flexible after school options. The Lab After School office communicates a child’s occasional use participation to their school day teachers. The teachers then ensure the student gets to their after school group’s assigned meeting spot. If a child does not arrive within five minutes of dismissal, the office will check with the teacher and a phone call home is made to confirm the student's whereabouts.
Program Options and Registration
Occasional Use options are available for Before School, Hour After, Late Day, and Study Skills. Information about each specific program can be found by using the menu options to your left.
Registrations for any of our After School options can be made up until the point of dismissal. However, we ask that registration requests within an hour of dismissal be made by phone. All other registrations can be made using our Occasional Use Request form, via email to labafterschool@ucls.uchicago.edu, or by phone at (773)702-9449. Please be sure to include dismissal instructions including time and location, teacher name, and the dates of service being requested. You will receive an email confirming receipt of your registration request.
Group Assignments
Students attend the requested after school program with their classmates who regularly attend the program. Therefore, they will likely know at least one other student in the after school group. Groups are formed by class teachers after the completion of Fall Quarter registration.
Invoices
Lab After School is moving its invoicing to Lab's new online payment system. Registration constitutes your agreement to pay the fees corresponding to your Lab After School program selections as well as to use this new payment system.
