ERB eCTP TESTING
What is the ERB eCTP testing?
The Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP4) is a battery of assessments designed to provide instructionally useful information about student performance in key areas of school achievement. (Third graders take reading comprehension and mathematics tests. Fourth graders take reading comprehension, writing mechanics, writing concepts and skills and mathematics tests. Additionally, third graders take the auditory comprehension test and fourth graders take the verbal and quantitative reasoning tests.) Results of these measures are used by Lab's Lower School to compare with more content-specific, curriculum-based measures of performance. This comparison can be useful when identifying those students whose skills and achievement scores show marked discrepancies.
What information is provided by the eCTP?
When ERB Testing is complete, test results are available to parents online. Links (to the right) include the Primary Grade Report (3rd grade) and the Narrative Report (4th grade). The purpose of these documents is to explain the standards and statistics that describe your child's performance and to provide more information about the sub-tests. To help you understand your child's report, these documents include a report for a fictitious student. Also, there are links to the right that explain the Lexile and Quantile Measures.
How do I access my child's scores?
When your child's ERB/CTP test score result is available, log into PowerSchool and click on the ERB icon at the top right of the page. PowerSchool is found by clicking on "Parents" at the top of this page then clicking on "PowerSchool" within the list of items on the left of the Parent page. You will be asked for your username and password provided to you by the Lower School. If you have trouble logging into PowerSchool or have forgotten your username and password, contact the Lower School office.
